Description:

In 1877 OT, on 23rd Land's Sleeping (19th Locking), The Treaty of Seven was signed in Djiretta. It was a peace treaty, signed after a conflict between the cities of the Kingdom. At the time the Seven were the nobles of Anghelm, Djiretta, Buruna Kalima, Kelther, Zagoula, and Shakista. The conflict was for the most part conducted via trading disputes and was between the older established cities of Buruna and Kalima, the previously independent city of Anghelm and the newer power of Kelther. The fact it was signed in Djiretta was due mainly to its neutrality. It also signalled a shift away from a previous Buruna influenced capital at Shakista to a more Djiretta-friendly one, particularly given the amount of trade entering Djiretta and proceeding down the King's Highway. Also, a result of the treaty was the right of the Buruna head noble to refer to himself as King of Buruna, as a concession to the fact that the treaty eroded somewhat the Buruna influence over Shakista. The peace treaty ended the squabbling between all the various city-states and other peoples that had been assembled under the Klarashian banner. It was a sign of the strength of the king that he was able to bring his major cities together for a peace treaty.
