Taralak likely traded (in heavily guarded caravans across the swamps) with the three kingdoms that sprung from the ruins of the old Halfhand kingdom of Granat: Aranat (to become Arantis), Dranat (to become Djarat), and Kranat (to become Kharnek). Buruna, Anghelm are built on ancient Taralaki ruins. Taralak had strained relations with Ancient Arantis, which was once dominated by a series of powerful warrior-queens. They often clashed with Taralak for land and resource. Taralak as a nation was destroyed by the incursion of Atlantean troops just before c1000OT. Although Taralak lands were sundered by the Splitting of Irritaria, the land upon which Taralak stood is for the most part still above the waves, in northwest Khul. A small amount of southern Allansia to the west of Alkemis also shows signs of having been the northern tip of this once great nation.
