Many years ago the blood of Tancred the Magnificent, through the line of the eldest child was extinguished, and the stewards of the Ridermark took control of the kingdom until a suitable heir would be found. When the Great Seals of the True Shield were somehow broken and the Malice was released once more, an heir was found.

Before being able to take up the throne, the Heir had to destroy the Malice. Despite being a lowly kitchen servant, Tancred's heritage was strong and a hero was born. Wielding one of the mighty Twin Swords of Light, the Heir finally laid the spirit of Orghuz to rest the Heir returned Tancred's bloodline to the throne in 280AC.
