Description:

This is merely a geographical definition not a political one. For the purposes of both this Encyclopaedia of Khul and its sister volume The Atlas of Khul, the area is defined as the north east corner of Khul. It is limited by oceans to the north and east and south east, and by the vast Battlegrounds to the south west and west. Despite have so much coastline, this region has comparatively little in the way of ports, save on its south-eastern shores. As the book ‘Titan’, that most famous of adventurers’ literary companions, says:

". . steer a ship out of Pollua in Lendleland, and head south-west by the light of the Dragon Star. . Stick true to your course and in perhaps sixty days you will sight land again. A vast, mountainous coastline will grow nearer and nearer until it towers over your frail craft with no sign of any inlet or bay to ease your journey. You must sail around the coastline for two or three more days before you will find somewhere to beach your craft and at last set foot on Khul" Titan, 284AC, The Year of the Fox.

The map shown here is of the region referred to. For more cartographic detail please visit the Atlas of Khul or click on the map which will take you there. The 3rd century AC tales, referred to collectively as ‘Fighting Fantasy’, that concentrated on this area were: 'FF23: Masks of Mayhem'; 'FF28: Phantoms of Fear; 'FF55: Deathmoor'; and 'Titan', although others played their part.
