These Seals were bound to the True Shield, put in place to secure the shield which held the Malice of Orghuz at bay, and were placed in the darkest vaults of Gorak Keep. If all the Seals were to be broken then the Malice would be released. This happened in the late third century AC, when the Malice of Orghuz was released, but to the good fortune of Gorak and the Gaddon, the Heir of Tancred was found, and was successful in defeating the Malice. The only way he could be killed was by first killing each of the Khuddam and then by inflicting the mortal wound on Orghuz himself with the Shining Sword of Tancred.
