Description:

This is merely a geographical definition not a political one. For the purposes of both this Encyclopaedia of Khul and its sister volume The Atlas of Khul, the area is made up almost wholly of the Wastes of Chaos. It is bordered to the west and north west by the Ranges of the Cloudhigh Mountains and the Mountains of the Giants. To the north the southern Deadlands serve as a seamless margin and to the north east the grass lands of the southern Battlegrounds delineate the edges of this region. The eastern limits of this area abut onto the foothills of the mighty Shios’ii Mountains whilst the northern Scythera Desert marks the southern extent. Despite the geographic nature of the definition of this area, it is a wholly distinct region, more maligned than perhaps any other on Titan. As the book ‘Titan’, that most famous of adventurers’ literary companions, says:.

"Here and there among the decay are founts of pure Chaos, like disgusting warped oases where the very fabric of Nature is perverted by the stuff of Chaos as it spews into the Earthly Plane. ". . . . . "It is said that the sun never shows itself over the Wastes of Chaos. . . . . . . . " Titan, 284AC, The Year of the Fox.

The map shown here is of the region referred to. For more cartographic detail please visit the Atlas of Khul or click on the map which will take you there.

The 3rd century AC tales, referred to collectively as ‘Fighting Fantasy’, that concentrated on this area were: 'Warlock Magazine 4'; and 'Titan', although others played their part.
