There are many fortifications and castle like buildings within the Dark Chasms attributed to the Gaddon people. The great fortress of Branthon is one of the largest, built close to the Caves of Minosaddurr. Originally built by the Gaddon people in the height of their power, it was abandoned by them after a siege by the Evil forces of Orghuz, The Malice. The Gaddon spent their last days there casting Spells of Doom and Despair, for they are a race possessing much magic. These spells were intended to turn the castle into a giant trap, and to an extent they succeeded. An example of one of these spells is the spell entitled 'The Casting of Creatures to the Bottomless Pit'. Within this the caster makes the sign of the Seven Senses of Dismay, and in so doing summons a great unknown beast from the Bottomless Pit which pulls the casters immediate mortal enemies down into the abyss.
