"Hachiman...completely cut off from the rest of Khul. Being a land of great fertility and natural resources, its inhabitants have never felt any need to attempt to cross the heaven-scraping peaks which isolate their land, and since they are not good sailors, they have never ventured very far along the coast of the Southern Seas." Titan, 284AC, The Year of the Fox.

The map above is the work of Ken Beuden, the author of this ‘The Book of Atlan’. The source material of the map is from a variety of sources, the bulk of which are from the 3rd century AC tales referred to collectively as ‘Fighting Fantasy’. The main volumes of this series used were 'FF20: Sword of the Samurai'; 'FF42: Black Vein Prophecy'; 'FF47: The Crimson Tide'; and 'Titan', although others played their part.

The dimensions of the map above are only 20% of the original. To zoom in further on any part of the map simply hover over the area you wish to examine in more detail and click. This will take you to a map with dimensions at 50% of the original. This map in turn will have certain areas which you examine in even closer detail. To find those areas simply hover over that map and explore.

The map details the South Eastern corner of the Khulian Continent.

The map above is of South Eastern Khul.

The map contains every location mentioned within the books regarding this area and is faithful to those books' descriptions of places.

The map above is of South Eastern Khul and is therefore dominated by Hachiman.

The map contains every location mentioned within the books regarding Hachiman (or Ojin as it has sometimes been referred to) and is faithful to the book’s descriptions of places (For instance, the charcoal burners village in the Kanshuro Dales, has been put in under the name kurozumi, which means ‘Black Charcoal’).

The main problem to reconcile was that the Hiang Kiang River as described in the book appears to run from East to West whereas the map of Khul in the book 'Titan' has the river running from West to East. This is why the river Hiang Kiang must run underground for a while. This runs through what are called the ‘Caves of the Fragrant Jewels’.

This details what can be gleaned about Hachiman from the books.

I would only add to this wealth of information the following extra pieces gleaned from canon:

First, we know that Shogun Aykira was the grandfather of Shogun Kihei Hasekawa. This also means that there is evidence to show that the Shogunate was passed from father to son.

Second we know that 222AC was the fourth year of Aykira's rule, therefore he began ruling in 218 AC. Third, we know that Hachiman reckon years by a cycle of 8 named years (Tree, Fish, Stone, Sun, First Moon, Second Moon, Sword, Arrow)
